schofield lothian

building

In the short to medium term, growth in the building sector is predicted to steadily continue. Much of this will be fuelled by a surge in the building of public resources such as schools along with the need to meet ambitious figures for housing set by central government. Include into this equation the huge developments for the London 2012 Olympics Games and it is predicted that construction output will grow by around 11% by 2011.

Presently, the sector employees over 2 million people through 250,000 construction related firms, but it is estimated that around 88,000 people are now required annually to meet this growing demand. The industry contributes approximately a tenth of the UK’s gross domestic product.

Developers and contractors continue to call upon Schofield Lothian’s skill and expertise. Our strategic planning in response to demand in this sector will ensure that Schofield Lothian will continue to anticipate and meet the needs of the sector for the foreseeable future.
