Project Overview:
The Thames Accord partnership was created in May 2003, bringing together the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and Accord plc with the aim of delivering maintenance services to approximately 22,500 council owned properties across the Borough. The partnership’s remit includes reaching the demanding “Decent Homes Standard’ targets by 2010 and includes an annual works budget of £2.5m to fund community safety and security projects.

Schofield Lothian was instrumental in establishing the partnership with its philosophy of “Integrated Team” focus towards projects. We continue to provide project and cost management services to the Housing Department via Thames Accords, across a variety of capital works schemes.

Delivery:
The new concierge facility at St Mary’s is typical of the type of project undertaken by Schofield Lothian on behalf of the partnership, works aimed at providing improved levels of security for the residents. The project represents one of three concierge facilities built for the Community Housing Partnership.

Schofield Lothian put a skilled project management team in place to work seamlessly with the client. From inception through completion to final sign-off, the team is involved throughout the full-life of each project even to the extent of establishing maintenance programs. The role required extensive liaison with a number of key stakeholders including the local authority and tenant groups.

Benefit to the Client:
The client has benefited from having a single point of contact across a diverse project delivery programme. The partnership has also enabled all the parties involved to establish common goals and work closely to achieve them on time and within budget.
